Dear Ms. Bennett,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at the City History Museum. We are always glad to welcome people who want to help visitors enjoy and learn about our city's past. This email explains how our volunteer program works, so please read it to the end.
Volunteers help with many different jobs. Some welcome visitors at the front desk and answer their questions. Others guide small groups through the museum and explain the history behind the objects on display. If you prefer quieter work, you can also help in the library, where old photographs and documents are kept. You may choose the kind of work that suits you best.
Before you start, all new volunteers must attend a short training session. The next session will be held on Saturday, July 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the training, you will learn about the museum's history and meet our staff. After that, we ask each volunteer to work at least one day every month.
If you would like to join, please reply to this email by June 25 and tell us which kind of work interests you most. We will then send you the details for the training day. No special experience is needed, because our friendly staff will teach you everything you have to know, and you can always ask us if you have any questions at all. We hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
The City History Museum
